We’ve got Reacher, Bosch, Bourne—and sure, I’ll even throw Bond in there. But you know what’s missing? A woman. Yes, I said it. We are missing a woman at the center of these high-octane thrillers. And not only that—thrillers are stuffed with the FBI, CIA, MI5. But where’s CSIS? Where’s Canada?
Canadians always seem to be lurking in the background, never front and center. I want to change that. Boldly. Maybe even a little recklessly. I want to introduce the first female CSIS intelligence officer you’ll remember: Reese Falcon.
Why Canada? Simple. I’m Canadian. And I know our stories are underrepresented on the international thriller stage. It’s time to bring Canada right to the front of your face, where there’s no denying her at all.
Who is Reese Falcon? She’s not just a woman with a gun. She’s complex. Scarred by childhood trauma but refusing to play the victim card. Determined to make her name, even in a world that wasn’t built for her. She’s smart, resourceful, and relentless—and she’s the kind of character I believe readers are hungry for.
Right now, I’m in the querying phase, aiming for traditional publishing. Why? Because Reese deserves to reach the widest audience possible. She’s the best thing I’ve written, and she’s taught me so much in the process of bringing her to life.
When that day comes, and she does get signed—I’ll be popping open a bottle of Caribou Crossing to celebrate. Until then, I’ll keep pushing to bring Canadian thrillers out of the shadows and into the spotlight where they belong.
